I absolutely love this series and wish there was a 4th chapter to it. I don’t even know if one is in the works, but since Whirlpool is releasing other games (which I will definitely try in due time), I don’t think there is. Would be nice though.
It has a very nice cast with colorful characters with different personalities. Obviously this is a part 3 so if you have not picked up the previous two, I recommend doing that first. The new character additions work really well and especially the tiger girl, Shana and the dog girl, are very welcome. It is hard to compare them to Tama, Yura and Ritsu and see which of these 5 I like the best. Really, really hard. I think Ritsu -> Shana -> Yura -> Shino -> Tama, but this changes about every second.
The plot is a bit convoluted and confusing at times. For some reason I struggle to keep up when a lot gets explained at once. No idea if that is the writing, or if it’s me. That said I am not really in it for the deep plot. I like the plot there is – there is more going on than just stick-meets-hole, which is good. The real star for me are the personalities of the girls and getting to know them and seeing how they interact with one another. It’s just a very, very nice cast. Generally the whole shinobi thing does not interest me much… but I can’t help but smile at the charm this game has and these girls have and wish that they were my shinobi, haha.
I like the music, the art is in my opinion really good. I would prefer if the games would be animated in the same way as Nekopara, but you can’t have everything. Their ears do twitch and it’s really cute. I also really like the voice acting. Especially from Ritsu and Shana.
All in all, if you like animal girls or kunoichi, give it a try. I’ll (sort of) patiently await chapter 4.
